Tri-State Plus Tour

Our newest offering, this 6-day tour will bring you through some amazingly diverse territory. Explore much of arid Eastern Washington, the rolling hills of central Idaho, the stunning scenery of Western Montana, and a tease of Southern Alberta and British Columbia. The roads and scenery will leave you wanting for more.

Day 1: Preston, WA to Lewiston, ID (368 miles/590 km)

From day one, you'll experience a variety of landscapes and roads, from forested mountain passes to arid and isolated eastern Washington back-roads. You'll see evidence that the landscape of much of eastern Washington was scoured out by a great flood hundreds of years ago. Don't be surprised if you don't see another car in this area for miles!

Day 2: Lewiston, ID to Polson, MT (301 miles/483 km)

After breakfast, cruise up the Old Spiral Highway and ride one of our personal favorites, Highway 12 from Lewiston up and over Lolo Pass into Montana. Picture this sign: "S" Curves for the next 77 miles.
For the history buffs, this highway is also known as the Nez Perce Trail or Lewis and Clark Trail. Continuing on, you might want to stay the night in Polson (MT), a small town situated at the southern tip of Flathead Lake.

Day 3: Polson, MT to Whitefish, MT (251 miles/402 km)

Leaving Polson behind, you'll trek north along Flathead Lake to Whitefish, where you'll have the opportunity to ride "Going to the Sun Road" in Glacier National Park and view the splendors of the Rocky Mountains "up close and personal."

Day 4: Whitefish, MT to Creston, BC (217 miles/350 km)

After a scenic ride along Lake Koocanusa, which is named for the Kootenay River, Canada, and the USA, you'll be crossing the border into Canada. You might want to stay in the friendly town of Creston, British Columbia, home of the Columbia Brewery and Kokanee Beer.

Day 5: Creston, BC to Winthrop, WA (272 miles/438 km)

Heading west again, you'll drop back into Washington and roll south along the Pend Oreille River, then traverse Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake and the Okanogan and the Colville Indian Reservations before making your way to Winthrop, Washington's own "Old West" town.

Day 6: Withrop, WA to Preston, WA (211 miles/340 km)

After a hearty breakfast, you can't miss the North Cascades Highway, well known for its spectacular vistas and great stretch of winding road. Once again amidst the lush green of western Washington, you'll take the scenic valley back-roads on our return to Preston.
